The cherry IS the cherry on top!

If you've been in the Philippines for ages, you would probably eat cherries in these forms:
  1. as a maraschino cherry in some ice cream sundae,
  2. tasteless and soggy in a fruit cocktail can,
  3. some weird tasting flavor for candy or gum, Kool Aid, or some kiddie medicine (how I know this for a fact is another story altogether!), or
  4. and very very rarely, fresh, in some teensy plastic bags, exorbitantly priced in a few grocery stores in Metro Manila.
With the fourth option so rare, it is quite a treat to see so many fresh cherries in a bowl like this. All these fruits available at such affordable prices just make me want to dance around!
