Harvest time ... acorn squash!

Do you know what our gardening philosophy is? Toss the seeds in the garden, they'll probably grow. And grow these did. I am actually not sure if they are acorn squash but I asked a friend with a rather vague description and checked it out on Wikipedia, so acorn squash they are!

These plants just overtook the backyard (who cares about those ferns? :) ) and we have a few more of these growing.
